There are planes all over the world, but the plane in the picture to the left, is my favourited. Check the nice registration on the side just front of the back door.Would be nice to have a piece of the fuselage with the registration, on the wall at home in my radio shack.

Every spring in May there is an air-day at the local airfield EFKK, this is from where I started myjourney in 2013 to Kenya. This Year the event took place on May 10, I visited the event with my grand son Theo. We use to take a trip with the local airlines, or with the local flying club. On the pictures, you may notice the ice in the Bay of Bothnia, outside the town of Karleby.
A birthday celebration happens every year, some celebrations are more celebrated than others. In the neighbour village Pensala a dedicated flight enthusiast has an ultralight aeroplane, my family decided to celebrate me by sending me on a flight trip 05.06.2019. About five minutes after the take off we were circling over Jeppo, I took some pictures over the village, the we headed for EFKK Kronoby airport . We planned to visit the local flight club, this is the same club that arranges the yearly flight events mentioned earlier. The club is active, and train members to get their first permit to fly ultra light planes. We met some members and had a cup of coffee, after that we returned back to Pensala. A very nice experience, thank you all.
Revisiting Pensalandia in FS2020
After the trip in May, the pilot asked me if I would be interested to join him on a trip to Kuhmo in July. Every year there are several "Fly-ins", a "Fly-in" is a meetup for enthusiasts or anyone generally interested in flying. This year KuhmoFlight club KUIK celebrated 60 years of activity. This was an offer that was impossible for me to turn down, it was a YES!
13.07.2019 An early take off 7:00 AM from Pensala heading for EFKK Kronoby airport. The plan was to fly to Kuhmo in a group of 3 planes. Two ultralight planes owned by the KIK club OH-U445, OH-U598, and we in the OH-U382. Take off 8:30 AM with nice weather in Kronoby, the weather forecast predicted some rain showers in the Kuhmo area. Nice journey to Kuhmo, some rain at arrival 11:30 AM, and some showers under the visit. We had food and coffee and a nice stay with various shows of equipment, and discussion forums. Watching the sky we decided to departure at 15:00 PM between the showers. On the way home we visited Kärsämäki, a landing strip is available very near the town, arrival at 16:30 PM. A short walk to a service station for some coffee and snacks in good company, departure to Kronoby EFKK at 18:00 PM. The weather was clear and fine all the way home, and we arrived to Kronoby at about 19.00 PM. Filling petrol in the tanks and completing the logbooks took some time before we were back in Pensala. What a day!
In the spring 2020 the Air force tested different fighter jets in the sky above me. The current Hornet fleet is to be replaced between 2026 and 2030.

Early memories of a DC3 plane. In the late 60s, the aeroplane on the route Nairobi - Kisumu was easily spotted from our veranda. Thehousewas on the hill side facing the Kipsigis hills on the other side of the valley and the Sondu river. On google maps the distance from Matongo to the rout is is about 5km to the North East. From 1968 at the age of 10, I remember the first part of our journey back to Finland, Kisumu -Nairobi with a DC-3. Me and my brother had the first row seats on the right side of the plane, we had free sight into the cockpit, there was only a curtain between the cockpit and the passengers. I was very impressed by the double controls and all the meters and levers. We were actually sitting on the correct side to spot our house at Matongo, but at the age of 10,there was no way to spot a single house or group of houses, without following the landscape from the start.

Air Force Press release Publication date 21.3.2023 14.05 Finnish Air Force F/A-18 Hornets will train with a United States Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker aerial refuelling aircraft on 21–23 March 2023. The air-to-air refuelling exercises are a part of the Defence Forces’ international training and exercise plan, approved by the Finnish Ministry of Defence. Similar exercises have been conducted regularly since 2009.
